WSOP announces events and changes for 2009
A total of 57 bracelets can be won this year when the 2009 World Series of Poker (WSOP) kicks off from the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas on May 26th. There are several changes to the WSOP Schedule, for example: there are NO rebuy events anymore. Harrah’s officials clearly wanted to boost the significance of winning a bracelet, which may have led to the decision. Also in 2009, a special tourney can be found on the schedule to celebrate the 40th Birthday of the WSOP. The delayed WSOP Final Table (November Nine) will return again. The final table is currently scheduled to take place November 7 – 10. A special $1,000 buy-in “stimulus special” will be held on opening weekend and a field of over 4,000 players is expected. I love this idea because it will really opens a opportunity for the little guy to play for a bracelet. If a player were to play every single event the total cost would be $295,500. To view the complete schedule visit www.WorldSeriesofPoker.com. Good Luck!!!! Mark your calendars it all start May 26th.
I Flopped the Absolute Nuts, Whats The Next Step?
Many times you sit a poker table never getting any good hands for half the day making no real money. Often times many will envision winning with the nuts. You visualize how amazing it would be to win with the nuts. The fact of the matter remains that it required not only the nuts, but skill
to win time and time again. The goal is still to take as much chips from the other players as possible, with any hand even if you don’t have the nuts. Many will say their is not one ultimate strategy to use when you flop the nuts. Some will even say that you
should just check when having the nuts allowing others to make a move at the pot. The best hand will not always win but the nuts is different. You don’t want others to know you are super powerful right? Wrong!
Its not always the right thing to do even if this approach is sometimes right. Making a huge bet and going all in might be the way to go. Its all about the timing and situation with the opponents and the game play at the table.
The first thing to think about when flopping the nuts is how strong of a nut hand it is. It is very possible to have the nuts and to still have a very vulnerable hand. If you do have a vulnerable hand it maybe a good decision to protect it.
You believe you cannot lose any money at this point, but anyone could out draw you if you don’t have the absolute nuts. Protecting you hand at this point is your only move. Although if you do have the absolute nuts it might be in your chip stacks best interest to check and see if anyone takes the bait.
Each strategy at this point depends on your other poker players. If you have an aggressive style you don’t want to check right? Your competition will expect you to bet. They will know something is not right if you make a move out of your normal style of play. They will also have a huge effect on how you perceive how to play the hand. If you are playing against a players that always bets, let them. Check and let them bet again and again. Set the trap and allow they to flow your lead. If anything goes wrong, switch up your betting style to get as much as you can no matter what.
How many players at the table is another large factor as to what decisions you make. If the table is short let other take the power position and then let them so they can try to better their hand. Even if you know they cant.
There is no reason to scare them away from the hand if you believe they cant out draw you. Every poker players dream is to flop the nuts but if you cant extract a lot of chips its worthless.

Beginners Need Poker Experience
In the very beginning, the game might seem complex but Texas Hold ‘em will get less complicated. This is a card game of chance. It is played by relying on big and small blinds. These are mandatory bets placed by two different players. Antes are optional like used in traditional poker, over and above the blinds. The dealer always possesses what is called the “button” which labels the dealer for that round. The button will change, rotating clockwise as each hand
goes on. You have to know who the dealer is at all times. This is because the small blind is made by the player to the left of the dealer. The amount is usually half of the big blind. The big blind is made by the player to the left of the small blind. This
must be equal to the minimum bet.
Tournament Hold ‘em might use the blind structure on occasion. And this could increase as the game progresses. There is never any telling what will happen there. The idea of the game is to get rid of players until there are just two players remaining. This is called ‘head-to-head’ and the game will change depending on the blinds. The dealer will post the small blind and the opponent will place the big blind.
The dealer goes first, prior to the flop. After the flop, the dealer plays last for the rest of the hand. There are three various kinds of Hold ‘em, limit, no limit, and pot limit hold’em.
Limit hold ‘em is the most highly favored. This type of hold’em bets and raises in the first two rounds of betting and must be equal to the big blind (small bet). The next couple rounds of betting are called the turn and river. The bets and raises must be two times of the big blind (big bet). No-limit hold ‘em is the type of hold ‘em that you would observe if you were to engage in watching the big tournaments shown on TV. Players are allowed to bet or raise as they see fit with this type of play.
This is including any amount over the minimum raise up to all of the chips that the player holds at the table. This is called an all in bet. At a minimum the raise must be minimally equal to the big blind.
If a player desires to re raise, he must raise the minimum amount of the prior raise. The raise or re-raise has to equal the amount of the previous raise. If not, the first raiser can not raise again. partial return of the losing for an active gambler can be regarded as an insignificant advantage of casinos in games.
though, during the game itself it did not make him very uneasy. the most popular forms of poker seem to be various types of omaha and texas holdem. darcis series of celebrity poker art paintings combine digital technology and her experience in the traditional mediums.

Have Fun And Win At Poker
Online poker can be a great way for someone to make money casually. However, for someone wanting to make a living, they need to be serious about their online poker. Online poker can be amusing, relaxing, and also ultimately even profitable. However, always have the proper state of mind when you`re gambling at the online poker games website board. Online poker can look quite daunting if you’re new to virtual casinos and online gambling. You might not be very familiar with the general rules and/or etiquette of poker.
Playing poker is like being a salesman who works on a commission basis. When you make sales, you get commissions and your lifestyle rolls on at a nice clip. Playing poker is a kind of art. To be successful here you need to be a skilful player, to master some tactics, to create a certain table image so that your opponents could not read you and even made mistakes. Playing poker is making its way to become as common practice as going to soccer practice.
Personally, if I play for several hours without taking a break, my eyes will burn for a long time, and I need to take 1-2 days off. There’s no good in playing 8 straight hours one day if you’re in no condition to play the next 2 days. Since it is played against different competitors and not in opposition to the house, it is also possible for a player to gain victory at it in the long run.
Online poker is characterized by players hoping for miracles on the river, this tendency to stay in the game a few rounds too long will be your money maker.
Remember the fundamental rule of poker, always leave yourself with outs, without outs you are dead. Remember, a good bluff master can get you in trouble easily. Remember you don’t just get one shot. If you go broke, you can always rebuild and try again somewhere down the road.
Online poker is obviously rigged. You are playing against a stacked deck and a nest of bots programmed to steal your money when you enter an online poker room.
Online poker is still just a substitute for the real thing. In fact, I think online poker can only help to bring more people into the game of poker, as it’s much less intimidating than entering a real cardroom for the first time with no playing experience.

WSOP Bracelets

Poker Strategy System: How To Calculate Odds
This can not be better illustrated than through an example and that is exactly what is going to be done here.
Let’s say you are playing online hold’em and you have a hand of 8, 9 suited in a game with the small blind of $3 and the big blind of $6. Then you call the raise that came from one player and all the other players do that also. There are six players in total in the poker room. So the pot added up to $36 or more from now.
In the flop, the cards you can see are Js , 7h, and 4h.
Now, a difficult decision lies ahead of you. Once you have seen the flop you realize that you have a gutshot to a nuts straight because you are now missing only a 10 from hitting that hand. The idea is to decide whether it is worth it to draw for the nuts or not.
The player in first position bets and the following two players that are stitted before you call. So the pot became somewhere around $45. if you are looking after that gutshot straight then you have to consider the fact that it has 4 outs that are the card you are missing, the 10 in this example. 4 cards out of the total of 47 cards left in the deck. So odds are 4:47. On the river the cards in the deck decrease by one so the odds become 4:46. Simplifying, it turns out that to hit the straight on the turn you have 1:11 chances. The pot odds are in your favor because you now have to call $3 for the amount of $45 accumulated so far.
On the turn, the following cards are placed on the table: 6s, 4h, 7h, Js. This means that you have now the chance to draw to 2 straights and you are hoping for either one of the following cards: a five or a ten. The outs just became 9 for you hand and the odds just improved on your side. Now your odds of hitting the draw are doubled because there are eight outs. And, in addition to that in this case you have the chance of hitting a different hand also, a flush and for that you need any spade card. For the flush there are 9 outs. There is a five of spades and a 10 of spades that are already counted as outs, so they will not be counted again. This basically means that your odds to improve the hand are 9+4:46, meaning 15:46 or about 33% for your draw to hit. This is a pretty good percent and even if the ones situated in front of you bet or raise, you can still get a good pot odd also.
It is crucial for you to learn over time to instantly calculate pot and implied odds both. You have always to calculate you pot odds, based on what is situated now on the table, and then try and think about future bets and recalculate the pod and its odds, this way you get to the true meaning of implied odds.
Poker Hands: Best and Worse Starting Hands in Texas Hold’em
Best Poker Hands
If you are lucky to be dealt one of these initial hands, you are definitely having an excellent beginning:
Pair of Aces: as known as American Airlines or pocket rockets, it is the best possible Texas Holdem starting hand.
Pair of Kings: not as good as a pair of Aces but still an excellent way to open a game of Texas Holdem.
Pair of Queens: if you want to look at the bright side, you will be beaten only by Kings and Aces.
Ace and King: if they are of the same suit, your condition is even better, since you can form the nut flush at ease.
Pair of Jacks: unless the flop shows either a Queen, King or an Ace, you have decent chances of winning with this promising starting hand.
Ace and Queen: the same as Ace and King, a suited hand would increase your chances of stepping out as a winner.
King and Queen: unless the community cards contain an Ace, you are in a good shape with this starting hand and even better if it is suited
Ace and Jack</b>: even if appears unsuited, this starting hand is still worth holding.
King and Jack: still one of the best Texas Holdem starting hands, but be careful with it, especially when unsuited.
Ace and Ten: the Ace upgrades it to a pretty good hand, although requires a cautious play since it can be beaten by any of the starting hands mentioned above.
Worst Poker Hands
These hands would suit you well if you play some of the lowball variations, but if you play traditional Texas Holdem poker, the best advice would be to fold.
2 and 7: if you are dealt this hand, especially unsuited, you cannot even make a straight. Even if suited you should be so lucky to form a low flush or the lowest pair. In one word: fold.
2 and 8: same as the previous hand; pair of 8s is still a low pair.
3 and 7: although it can beat the previous hands, it still a worthless pair of cards
3 and 8</b>: again, hardly even a low straight.
2 and 6: only if the community cards will feature 3, 4 and 5, you will have a chance of forming a straight. However, do not count on it, especially if there are more than 3 attendances in the game.
2 and 9: thanks to the presence of the 9 you are in better shape than with the former hands, still you cannot form a straight and even a pair of 9s would be beaten by pairs of 10s, Jacks, Queens, etc.
3 and 9: the same thing: higher than 8 lower than almost any other hand.
4 and 9: as mentioned above; foldem.
2 and 10: even though Doyle Brunson had won two WSOP bracelets with this starting hand, unless you have the talent and experience of Brunson, do not hold this hand.
5 and 9: also known as Dolly Parton, this hand would get you nowhere near the final table.
Poker Game Strategy - Tells And How To Read Your Opponents
Being able to read other poker players is essential to being successful at winning hands at the poker table. This is the case whether the table is virtual or real, in a tournament or in your friends’ basement. If you are going to win against the other players, you need to know how to read their tells.
One of the most valued skills among poker players is the ability to bluff, to have a good “poker face“. Bluffing is a term that is used to when a player is trying to get an opponent to believe what they are saying is true. This works for both good and bad hands, for a good hand, it may be in your best interest to let your opponent believe they have the better hand, they will then bet up the pot. However, a poker player with a bad hand who is good at bluffing might be able to convince their opponent to fold, therefore winning the hand with poorer cards.
The bluffing skill works well during online as well as off line play; however, online play has its own opportunities for poker players. Many times, while playing online, other players are more willing to share secrets of play with you. Use this to your best advantage, ask questions of them, they will usually tell you why they did or did not make a certain play during a hand. After all, they are, most likely not going to be playing against you in person. If you explain that you are new to the sport, most poker players will not mind teaching you.
Another skill that poker players must develop is being able to pick up on opponents tells, while hiding their own. Most players are not going to be as obvious as to jump up and down when they are dealt a great hand, but maybe the look up at the ceiling or begin to tap their toes. Being able to pick up on these little gestures will help you to play more effectively against them. However, just as important, never forget that while you are watching your opponents, they are watching you also.
Some poker players engage in idol chitchat while playing a hand. This can be very distracting if you are not one of the people who can do this and still concentrate. The reason for this talking is easy to understand, it is an effective way to throw off the concentration of a table. If you are to be a successful poker player, you will need to learn either to block this out, or to use it to your advantage.
